Action for which recommended -

On 10th April 1944 this NCO displayed leadership and courage of the highest order. When his section was cut off by the enemy and whilst under intense fire, this NCO extricated his section from an undesirable position and taking up another position to a flank, took offensive action against 26 lorry loads of enemy reinforcements.

His outstanding (Illegible) and courage was very largely responsible for the successful crossing of a difficult (Illegible) by the rest of the unit.
