At the time the Animal Training Team, which was commanded by this Officer,  was allotted to this force, the units of four out of the six Brigades had come straight from an M.T. establishment and had not had any experience with animals.

In spite of this handicap and the very short time available for Training, through this Officer's personality, energy displayed in touring Brigades, outstanding knowledge of fitting animal equipment and horsemanship, and his ability to instill this knowledge into others, the standard of animal management in this Force was brought to a very standard.

Undoubtedly it is largely due to his efforts that in Operations the Animal Transport of all the Brigades worked so smoothly and efficiently throughout.

In order to obtain practical experience of conditions in BURMA and to give any further assistance required, this Officer flew in and visited Columns in the Field.
