This Rifleman is a member of No. 7 Platoon 26 Coln.
On the evening of 24 May his Platoon was ordered to attack a strongly held Jap position in CLYDESIDE. He himself was directly responsible for killing the crew of a heavy machine gun. When his platoon Commander was wounded, Rifleman PARCHMENT showed great initiative in controlling the movement of the other two sections.
Throughout the campaign this soldier has set an example of cheerfulness and hard work to his comrades hard to excel.
